MOTU DIGITAL PERFORMER APP INSTALL
You must install the latest driver before you can use your M2 or M4 with macOS Big Sur. However, a driver is available that provides lower latency performance and loopback channels under macOS Big Sur. Be sure to download and install the very latest M series driver. They are USB audio class compliant for plug-and-play operation with no driver installation needed. M2 and M4 bus-powered USB audio interfaces are fully compatible with Apple silicon Macs and macOS Big Sur. This procedure is not necessary if the Gen5 driver has already been installed in your macOS Big Sur system and you are merely updating it. PLEASE NOTE: Before installing the Gen5 driver on your macOS Big Sur system (Intel or Apple silicon Mac), please read this tech note for important information about enabling the driver in your system's security settings. Create a separate, unique monitor mix for each output (monitor outs, phones, etc.) Apply on-board effects, including reverb, 4-channel parametric EQ and dynamics processing to inputs and mix busses. Use CueMix 5 to quickly access basic device settings or to monitor live inputs directly on any analog output pair with the unit's on-board DSP-driven mixing. However, a new Gen5 installer is available that provides ultra low latency driver performance under macOS Big Sur, plus the all-new CueMix 5 app. It is USB audio class compliant for plug-and-play operation with no driver installation needed.

MOTU DIGITAL PERFORMER APP UPGRADE
Please carefully read the compatibility information below before you upgrade your Intel-based Mac to macOS Big Sur. If you have any questions, please contact MOTU customer service or technical support. Please check back here for future announcements regarding further compatibility. Most of the MOTU products listed below are qualified for use with the new Apple silicon Macs. I only use it in the most extreme cases where I need a remote.Apple has announced macOS® Big Sur (version 11.x) and a new line of Apple silicon Macs. The iOS app still loads on 1'st and 2nd generation iPads, but certain things don't work, on my system adding a Marker via the iPad freezes the interface, and it generally has a hard time connecting to DP and the Mac here. It's also the most robust solution for Clip firing hardware, MOTU probably aren't keen on making partnerships with Novation and Akai because both companies make competing products to their audio interfaces and Akai make a hardware version of a Clip launcher etc. Logic Remote for iOS is really pretty nice, and I see no reason why MOTU couldn't match it. I'm in total agreement, even a lowly cost of $10 would probably cover updating it and making it modern. I've been attending the webinars as much as I can, and I think it would be a fantastic idea if we as end users flooded MOTU a bit about this. I’d even pay for it if they are worried about putting resources towards it. This work IMO pays for itself, and if a independent musician like Moss can do it I don't see why MOTU couldn't?Īgree with all the comments. Personally I've never understood why DAW developers don't take on the responsibility themselves to write the sort of scripts that you see Moss do for Bitwig and DAW that Cannot Be Named™. The lack of controller support in general is hugely damaging to it's standing IMO. I love DP, but I'm supremely jealous of the outstanding controller support every other DAW on my system has, including iOS apps designed forthe DAWs like Logic, Studio One, Cubase, etc. I think it was a bad move to drop it instead of developing it and advertising it.Īgree 100%. I find it weird that MOTU has not maintained this product. In an age of self-recording - especially in the pandemic time - a DAW controller app is absolutely essential. I feel like I'm stating the obvious here:
